Displacement Sensors for Measuring Polyethylene Thickness
Thickness of Polyethylene Films May Be Measured by Confocal Displacement Sensors
The thickness of polyethylene films may be measured in-line by using confocal displacement sensors. These ultra-precise sensors measure the thickness of thin, transparent sheet by simultaneously measuring both the top and bottom surfaces. The measurement probe is aimed perpendicularly to the sheet surface and the sheet must be stabilized during measurement so it’s vibration amplitude does not exceed the span of the sensor system.
CCS Prima Confocal Displacement Sensor
The CCS white light confocal displacement sensor is the most precise measurement system from Acuity. Using white light LED, the system employs a unique measuring principle that separates emitted light into different colors and then uses a detector to identify the reflected color signal.
