Acuity lasers are great for applications that require quick, and precise, dimensional measurements. In the world of cargo transportation, there are few services that need speed and precision more than air freight. Whether you need to measure small cargo before packing it into a Unit Load Device (ULD), or make sure large cargo can fit through the plane’s cargo door, our AS1100 Long Distance Sensor can give you the information you need to load your cargo efficiently and safely.
High-value cargo especially has a need for accident prevention, and that’s where laser sensor measurement comes in. Depending upon aviation laser safety rules, the sensors could be set up around a conveyor belt, around the interior or exit of the cargo warehouse, or even on the plane’s cargo door or within the fuselage. The AS1100 has an accuracy of 3 mm (⅛ in.) with a range of up to 100 meters (325 feet). So whether big or small, the AS1100 is up to the task.
The AS1100 can be wired to an alarm warning when the cargo is too large or too close to a door or wall, giving an extra level of monitoring redundancy during loading and unloading. For Acuity Laser, height alarms and other inventory management needs are an ongoing focus of our sensor development. Our measurement sensors can be added into the mix of your specialized airline handling and strict packaging rules.
If you have an application like this, or if this example sparked your interest for any other application, please contact our sales team and we can help find a laser sensor that’s right for you.
