Laser Rangefinders Verify the Positions of Palettes
A major frozen dough manufacturer automates much of their production and packaging. They use a palletizer to organize cases of product onto a pallet. This robotic machine builds each row of boxes and the position of the moving parts is verified with a laser rangefinder. The sensors report positional feedback to a master PLC so that no boxes are crushed or improperly positioned.
The solution was implemented by a local integrator who chose the eye-safe AR2500 laser sensor which have a high frequency response and an analog output 4-20mA signal.
AS2100 Accurate Distance Sensor

This eye-safe rangefinder has a measurement frequency of up to 30 kHz and can measure the distances to natural targets up to 30 meters away or to retroreflective targets 260 meters away. This laser is best for applications that demand high sampling rates.
AR2700 High-Speed Long Range Sensor
Acuity Laser’s ultra-compact rangefinder model. This eye-safe rangefinder has a measurement frequency of up to 40 kHz and can measure distances to natural targets up to 70 meters away or to retroreflective targets 270 meters away. This laser is best for applications that demand high sampling rates.
